Did the DPU fail to go into emergency and push the cars into the long pile of crossed cars. Or is UP operating DPU trains without train line air brakes? Lots of questions about train handling here. They will drag them all to the side and cut everything up.

Date: 07/25/19 17:31 Re: Mercer Mo UP derailment looks like a sand train Author: KCRW287 From what I was told there was a 25mph slow about where the cars started to pile up, the slow got lifted sometime on the 23rd or 24th, UP had been working on it for a long time, was told it had been there for a couple of months. The train was going down a .50 hill and I imagine it was probably doing the max speed. It appears that there is a culvert where the pile up started, this is a deep fill thru here. KCRW287
