Western Railroad Discussion > BNSF Mendota Subdivision QuestionsDate: 08/11/19 18:11 BNSF Mendota Subdivision Questions Author: PRR_4859 Good Evening:
With downturns in coal traffic, what trains travel on the Mendota Subdivision east of Galesburg, IL other than Amtrak? I ask this occasionally, but have not heard much about this line for awhile. Thank you in advance. Date: 08/13/19 03:20 Re: BNSF Mendota Subdivision Questions Author: sums007 There is a Facebook group that covers the Aurora and Mendota Subs, but most info and pix are from the Aurora Sub.

HCNIGAL and HGALCNI between Galesburg and the CN/EJE interchange at Eola, IL on the Chicago Sub. HBRCKCK and HKCKBC Belt Railway to Kansas City With the dropoff in oil track, NS is again sending freight to BNSF's Western Avenue for interchange. I haven't been able to confirm if these are all H NSINTW (NS to Northtown, MN) or if some are heading to Galesburg. There are also unit trains of sand and fertilizer (phosphate and potash). I have seen any unit LPG trains for awhile. These used to run from the CSXT at Western Avenue to Hutchison, KS |
