Western Pacific SW1500 1503 getting closer to done
Author: zephyrus

Photo taken at the Western Pacific Museum yesterday, August 11, 2019.

Western Pacific SW1500 1503 has received its major painting.  Now getting detail work.  Here we see the thin reflective orange stripes applied to the step treads.  Coming soon, painted handrails, hood access messages and other touchup work.  Also, new radiators are being assembled which is the last mechanical item the engine needs for full operation.

The cost to paint, repair and restore the 1503 has been around $10,000 and will go up another $6K once the radiators are done and installed.

The handrails are fabricated.  I think the Nathan M5 will be from DA!
