Request for help from Salinas, CA area commuters
Author: tmotor

Rumor has it that there are a bunch of DTTX Double-Stack well cars stored along the freeway.  If you frequent that area, please confirm they are still there (or not).

It is a long drive for me to reach that area, so it would be nice to know I won't be arriving to empty track.  :-0

Thank you in advance!  ;-)

Which highway are you speaking of? 101 or 183? I'll take a drive out in the next couple days and see what I can find!

I saw a couple of strings of cars along the 101 south of Salinas last Friday.

There are some well cars in McKay siding, that's maybe 80 miles south of Salinas.  They are visible from the 101.
Also might be well cars at Castroville, which is right along side the highway (not the 101)

If there are cars at Soledad or Gonzales, they are just barely visable from the 101

As of 2 months ago they were there on 183 in Castroville; I haven't been on any jobs out that way lately so I wouldn't know currently. They have almost always been there in my lifetime of living on the Central Coast.

Castroville siding is frequently stuffed with baretables.

I can confirm that Castroville is empty as of today 9/13. Will investigate the south end of town.

Confirmed, the Castroville siding is empty. Drove by about 4pm today.
