Western Railroad Discussion > The news of my demise..............Date: 09/14/19 18:25 The news of my demise.............. Author: The-late-EMD My take is the boxcar is not dead with all the 60ft. Rail box cars I see. They are everywhere. About how many does rain box own to date. I’m talking about just the hi/cube 50/60ft versions.

You need that breakdown to really see what is happening with the boxcars. Date: 09/15/19 15:45 Re: The news of my demise.............. Author: The-late-EMD It just seems that the 60ft hicube railbox car is everywhere. With more new ones coming online weekly. It must be at least 20,000 of them in service now.

But I still see a lot of 50 foot unequipped cars still in service along with 50 foot insulated and 50 foot cushion underframe cars too. The cars that in service are the ones that the shippers are requesting. |
