Western Railroad Discussion > Two pair: poker in Husker NationDate: 09/15/19 05:00 Two pair: poker in Husker Nation Author: santafe199 In the poker game of 5-card draw 2-pair is a pretty strong hand. Toss in a wild-card photographer and some late afternoon sunshine and you get something like an orange flush. I’m not real sure an orange flush will get you anywhere on a live poker table, but it sure makes for a nice thread here. Just killing time with a good friend up in Husker Nation*, the day before chasing some big smoke-belching thing-a-muh-bob with 16 big driving wheels…

Things are on the upswing.
Funny but I have some strikingly similar shots to yours of the orange flush! Date: 09/15/19 05:50 Re: Two pair: poker in Husker Nation Author: dpudave I wouldn't want to play "the noble game" with you, I work too hard for my money. But your photos are pure gold (not orange). Please consider this a long over due thanks. d

(chuckling) There were many times when I shouldn't have playing (with me), either! I learned live poker during my 23 years in Montana. And it just ain't a situation where you sit down and play well right off the bat. It's NOT your typical home game with a few buddies. It was a long and many times painful process, but I could hold my own once I learned how to "read" other players' hands by reading their style of play and body language. The hardest part is to just win a little at a time. And to recognize when you are on a "rush" and still not get greedy. A typical poker rush can disappear faster than it arrives, and that greed will make you lose back everything you just gained, plus some... But that poker narrative......might need more work..........in normal draw poker, the only way one could make their hand go from two pair to a flush.....is to throw away that two pair in the hopes of drawing to the flush........odds of hitting that are highly unlikely. Of course you, or any other poker player, would keep the two pair and hope to draw to a full house.
