Amazing how the BNSF secures so many trucking/intermodal partnerships.  Good for them!

LTL was one of the last hold-outs using trailers instead of containers. One more step towards the end of trailers on rail. Not sure it will ever completey go away, but its share continues to erode.

Container freight rates on railroad are cheaper than trailer freight rates, which is obvious. The chassis at destination for containers will always be a problem for smaller fleets of rail containers using pool chassis. The big fleets of containers have that locked down at destination.
