Down in Ottumwa this evening for a little get away. Got a few train pics too. 

1. DMOGAL tied down at MP 2 north of Albia on the Des Moines branch. This train didnt get to Ottumwa til after 1900

2. WB Hoppers at Maxon

3. In Ottumwa a WB approaches the CP xing 

4. EB Loads 2 x 1 

5. Another WB at MP 281 west of the CP Xing

6. A short EB manifest train I think out Lincoln. 

7. Another WB 

9. CP Ran their 474 with a good sized train with 2 GE's

10.The sun starts set as another EB load heads towards Galesburg 

11. And finally Amtrak arrived about 5 min. late. TChicago crew is done and a Lincoln crew will take the train west.

Good stuff, K-Man, thanks for posting.  

Is the Des Moines Line still mostly ten miles per hour?  I had thought there ahd been talk of upgrading it, but haven't heard anything.

As far as I know its still 10mph in some places but not exactly sure where. Sunday nights train to Des Moines had work at Albia and at Runnells. Might ask my sources to see if they know anything.
