Western Railroad Discussion > Varnish on the Brookfield SubDate: 10/09/19 19:16 Varnish on the Brookfield Sub Author: burlingtonjohn Thanks to a timely tip from a good bud west of here, I was able to catch this eastbound BNSF OCS at Palmyra Missouri this afternoon at about 1237 pm. Word has it this consist is supposed to head west tomorrow on the transcon.

Other than the Burlington Route sign being replaced by the BN one after the merger, very little has been done cosmetically to it.... It departed yesterday evening.

Highly doubtful that it came out of St. Louis. Went west this morning on the Santa Fe transcon this morning as evidenced on the Virtual Railfan webcam at La Plata (approx 1054) .... It was always painted aluminum since being built by the CB&Q back in the late 1960’s.As the metal or gets torn off by the weather or wears off of the tie end’s , it doesn’t get replaced.
