Western Railroad Discussion > Hikers foodDate: 10/09/19 23:03 Hikers food Author: atsf5701 There are prepared meals available at stores selling outdoor and hunting equipment. Some have a dry chemical heating so you get a hot meal.
Some have tried military MRE meals. My military friends say these taste ok. However, be aware these are very high calorie. high in calories, OK if burning calories off on the trail but also very high in sodium, just great for the heart and blood pressure. In a word Yuvk! Go Date: 10/10/19 08:53 Re: Hikers food Author: PHall atsf5701 Wrote:

The people they're supposed to feed need them. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/10/19 22:05 by PHall. Date: 10/10/19 09:01 Re: Hikers food Author: Gonut1 LOL! The typical railfan foamer I've seen is not an 18 year old engaged in heavy physical activity! More of a Six-Pack toten middle aged balding dude with beer keg belly!

Of course it comes nowhere near a railfan's snacking requirements... Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 10/10/19 22:05 by PHall. Date: 10/10/19 21:39 Re: Hikers food Author: 4451Puff I keep an MRE or two in my vehicle when traveling into snow country, along with water, shovel, flares, warm clothes, etc.
