Union Pacific 49 Local on the Malad Branch

All pictures are from 2019 and in  geographical order.The Malad Branch starts at Brigham City,Utah and ends at Malad Idaho.The primary customer is Nucor Steel  near Milepost 31,but there are numerous other customers including Nucor  finished products  near Brigham City.The first image is the 49 just outside Brigham City near the first Nucor facility.The second picture is crossing the Bear River.The third shot is at Corinne on a short segment of original trancontinental railroad.Bill Webb

Three more views from the Malad.The first image is a rare daylight return trip near Ford.The second picture is crossing Main Street in Tremonton ,Utah.The last image is two miles outside of Nucor.Bill Webb

That's really cool, Bill, that you focus so heavily on branch line operations.  I fear branch lines are becoming an endangered specie.

My aunt and uncle lived in Tremonton, Ut from about 1946-1952. My first ride there was on the motor M-37-T51 in 1946. By 1950, the only trains were trains #311-312. 
My dad had some health issues so I lived in Tremonton for most of the summer of 1950.   The trains were powered by the 618.  I was able to have many cab rides on the 618 as they switched the yards at Hunts Packing Plant.  During the summer we also saw the 616 and Alco 1181.  
Many thanks for my  being  able to see trains on the Malad Branch 2019.
