Western Railroad Discussion > Sunny one day and Snow the next!!!

Talk about going from Fall to Winter FAST! Yesterday's CP 288 chase was under sunny skies and today a completely different story as 4+ inches of snow fell overnight and the clouds hung around all day, so let's get the ball rolling with Amtrak #8 blasting through West Salem WI behind the #130. I noticed a red line in at the Bangor Siding so I investigated and found CP 471 with  pair of KCS Belle Gevos. They were there for three eastbounds, the first was CP 852 with the CP 8052 leading the charge.

Here's another image of the CP 852 oil load, this was followed by CP 288 and the CP 8732. The last train was CP 813, UP 6830 coal loads for the Columbia Power Station near Portage.

CP 471 wasted little time from Bangor to La Crosse as it motored down West Salem hill in what is my first "ground blizzard" image of the Winter. Stay warm my friends!!

Great snow shots Jim! The power colors really look nice in the white. Very NICE series! Our weather hasn't turned white yet, just sunny and dry.
