Western Railroad Discussion > Yet Another GREAT CP 288Date: 11/09/19 18:11 Yet Another GREAT CP 288 Author: rrartist What started out as an ordinary Saturday turned into a GREAT Saturday when we received information that CP 288 was leaving the Twin Cities behind the CP 6309. A friend and I headed north and set up just south of Kellogg MN. I've always to photograph a train here and today with sun no less, it worked out. CP 6309 leads CP 288 as it crests the grade south of Kellogg, and the race was on!

Yhe first order of 21 Soo Line SD60s were returned at the end of their lease. The remaining 37 SD60 and 5 SD60Ms are still around as SD60s or SD60-3 eith upgraded microprocessor controls. CP's SD30C-ECO rebuilds used SD40-2 cores, 47 former CP, 2 former Soo Line, and 1 original KCS locomotive. |
