A Few Trains From Today On The BNSF, Plus A Couple Of Wigwags
Author: Ritzville

It was a cloudy to partly cloudy day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside Sub. The high-low was 50-40 with .01 of drips. Traffic was so-so with several lulls during the day, picking up after 4pm. Here are some of the trains from today and a couple of wigwags from more interesting days.

11/19/2019

1. EB 939am "Z" train with BNSF 4516-6802 and KCS 4189-4148.
2. Another shot of KCS 4189-4148 on same train.
3. Pink well cars for the cure of breast cancer rolling in same train.

13. EB 342pm manifest train with BNSF 4409-5290 on the pull with no DPU and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger and wave from the conductor.

Wigwags from the interesting past. I had a soft spot for wigwags on the SP and ATSF along with the searchlight signals. Always made train watching interesting. Semaphores were even better along with the track occupancy indicators.

14. Wigwags in Banning, CA with wind stabilizer on the SP in 1975. Retired around 1980.
15. Wigwags in Newark, CA on the SP in 1976. They were retired in 1994.

That's it for today. Hope everyone has a great evening and tomorrow. Thank you so much for looking!

Another righteous "Ritzville Report". The wig wags were cool too! Larry, whats the approximate number of trains that run past your backyard in a 24hour period?

Larry,

Could that first wig-wag shot actually be in Banning instead of Beaumont? The street bridge over the 10 freeway in the background is a clue . . . . . many thanks for the great images.
