Western Railroad Discussion > Awright guys, lemme see those IDs!Date: 11/27/19 05:19 Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: santafe199 Just another perilous moment chasing after some big black water boiler? Nahhh... This amiable officer was parked and waiting with anticipation along with a few other fans, including TO members "mg8711" & "upkpfan". Big Boy strutted right up 9-Mile to everyone's delight. And contrary to certain dark predictions, there was NO demo-derby when we all jumped into our vehicles and commeneced to chase...
1. A Kansas Highway Patrol Officer is apparently about to "bust" some highly suspicious characters loitering along old US hwy 40 west of Carneiro, KS. 2. "Aw shucks guys, I was just kiddin'. Whatcha'll lookin' at, anyhow?" 3. "Holy moly, izzat a prairie fire over there???" (3 photos taken November 21, 2019 overlooking "9-Mile Hill" west of Carneiro, KS) Thanks for looking! Of course not! I quit shooting the people, and started concentrating on the 4014... ;^) Date: 11/27/19 06:29 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: texchief1 Lance, I think he means where are the progression of the train photos!

Larry Date: 11/27/19 11:02 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: PHall I can see why the Trooper stopped. Some of those vehicles are not parked all the way off the road.
Just an accident looking for a place to happen. Date: 11/27/19 12:18 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: mapboy Nice fall color, even if it isn't on the trees.
mapboy Date: 11/27/19 14:32 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: dcfbalcoS1 If he stopped because some vehicles were not all the way off the road, he sure stopped in a funny place. Obvious at least one driver hanging out on the hiway is obviously still in the vehicle, his foot is on the brake pedal.
Date: 11/27/19 14:42 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: upkpfan The Trooper is a friend of ours and he stopped because he figured I would be there and he wanted pics. also. Nothing to get excited about. upkpfan

Reminds me of a run in with a cool Sandusky, Ohio officer earlier this year. Michael Fair Royal Oak, MI Date: 11/29/19 08:13 Re: Awright guys, lemme see those IDs! Author: dougd I too would enjoy seeing your pictures of 4014 coming around that bend!

I would too!!!! :^) This thread was an "on-the-road-quickie" dealing strictly with the fun of having a KS Hypo Officer join the photo-line. I DO have a bazillion photos of the 4014 ALL OVER THE PLACE. But I just got home last night, and this morning I am just sitting down to weed through, locate & date about 1700 digital images from 9 days on the road. Because of the generosity I learned from fans like Bill Gibson & Lloyd Stagner (both now deceased) there's NO way I won't eventually share all the good stuff. An early estimate tells me I have at least a 4-part series straight ahead. But you boys will just have to be patient... ;^) Lance/199 added: And you guys having a HERINA about cars parked here & there GET A FRIGGIN LIFE!!!! There was a Kansas Highway Patrol Officer RIGHT THERE, (in case your eyesight is bad). NOBODY got a ticket. NOBODY had a wreck. NOBODY got even so much as a broken fingernail...
