Western Railroad Discussion > KCS Veterans Unit Leading MKCSH On Pittsburg Sub

On the 16th we had planned to chase the UP 4014 once again. We caught it twice between Van Buren and Salisaw before getting a tip from Terry about the KCS 4006 (Veterans Unit) leading the MKCSH out of Pittsburg. It was a mutual decesion to leave the 4014 as we may not be in the area again to see the 4006. We headed towards Watts and worked our way north until we found it. We got almost to Joplin when we heard it had left Pittsburg 45 minutes ago. So we sat just south of Joplin and waited a few short moments. We followed it all the way to Decatur, Arkansas before we lost light. Bringing up the rear was one of the new EMDX Tier 4 Demos working as a DPU. Enjoy!
