Western Railroad Discussion > Mural Monday: Limon, CODate: 12/02/19 09:08 Mural Monday: Limon, CO Author: santafe199 During my 10-day odyssey chasing the Big Boy I had to take care of some business with the widow of a friend of mine who recently passed away in Aurora, CO. It was the first day of full sunshine I’d seen, but I had to leave the 4014 behind in Sharon Springs. Murphy’s Railfan Law in action, I guess. I stayed the night in Limon and the next morning I took a quick snoop around before heading on into Aurora. I found this nice mural and of course paid a quick visit to the museum itself. I had hoped for a shot of the depot. But I forgot how barricaded in it was…
1. Wall mural touting the Limon Heritage Museum over at the old UP ~ CRI&P crossing. 2. & 3. Equipment at the Limon Heritage Museum. You can just see a corner of the depot in image #3. (3 photos taken November 23, 2019 in Limon, CO) Thanks for looking! Lance Garrels santafe199 Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/02/19 09:09 by santafe199. The nearest Milwaukee Road trackage is several humdred miles away! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 12/02/19 14:22 by PHall. C&LC faded from the now abandoned Limon to Colorado Springs line (track removed) and the Milwaukee Road car remained in Colorado.
