Western Railroad Discussion > Bananas in Wylie WorldDate: 01/13/20 21:47 Bananas in Wylie World Author: KB5WK On Saturday 01/11/2020. A friend sent me a txt of the KCS I-ATDA with an EMDX 7210 leading. It was cloudy overcast moring but weather forecasters had said by noon we would have sunshine. They were right. Just needed the sun to be sunny sooner. Got to Wylie and there were 2 bananas already in the house track. Then went to Lake Lavon Dam to catch the ATDA arriving Wylie yard around 11 am.
Funny to hear this over the radio. The Wylie ATM on duty told the crew to take off the banana and put it with the other two bananas. His exact words. WOW! Here is a few drone shots with the Mavic 2. The engines are heading to Track 11 to attach to the DASH cars. They rolled out of Wylie World around 3 pm with EMDX 7213 leading.

These look like x U.P. SD40p or maybe SP units . Who knows for sure.??? Date: 01/13/20 23:43 Re: Bananas in Wylie World Author: BigDave I think I prefer the 'yard engines'.
Date: 01/14/20 04:22 Re: Bananas in Wylie World Author: shadetree I think those yard engines are EMD ECO rebuilds.

Posted from iPhone Date: 01/14/20 07:08 Re: Bananas in Wylie World Author: tomstp That yard is sure oddly shaped.
Date: 01/14/20 08:17 Re: Bananas in Wylie World Author: zephyrus The two SD22ECO rebuilds were originally built as SDP40s for National de Mexico. KCS 2601 was NdeM 8533.

That appears to be just the far east end of the yard, the satellite view shows a pretty traditional yard layout for the rest of the area. Possibly that end of it was due to a line relocation when Lake Lavon was created? Hard to tell if that was the case from the satellite views.
