Western Railroad Discussion > Tehachapi Pass queryDate: 01/14/20 15:04 Tehachapi Pass query Author: sums007 With the connecting of Marcel and Walong sidings, is there now a Track 1/ Track 2 designation there. Also, at around 15,000 feet in length, is there an intermediate signal between the two switches?

TC Date: 01/14/20 20:58 Re: Tehachapi Pass query Author: coach That signal on the left is interesting--only 2 lamps that are hooded. And it appears the #2 track is the main. I'm trying to figure out exactly where this is between the 2 mentioned points...?

The left signal only has two lamps on this side but three on the other side. Date: 01/15/20 10:50 Re: Tehachapi Pass query Author: donner_dude1 coach Wrote:

I don't have timetable for the line but if you are to believe the MP Markers on the signals the South track is Main 1 and North track Main #2. The old siding for Walong was on Main 1 and (Apparently) the old siding for Marcel is on Main #2. As for the 2 headed signal on Main 1 - the most permissive signal you can get N/B is Yellow/Yellow since you are using the turnout at Walong. Going North on Main #2 you would have a green if the DS has em lined up to past Woodford. Based on the signal configuration in the picture - The opposite is true for S/B trains going towards Tehachapi. Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 01/15/20 22:55 by donner_dude1. Shouldn't this be referring to Marcel, not Cable? Date: 01/15/20 22:56 Re: Tehachapi Pass query Author: donner_dude1 johnsweetser Wrote:
