An Hour by Burbank Airport
Author: erielackawanna

Many yaers ago when I worked at NBC I very rarely bothered to bring a camera to work and when I did, I'd be out in midday high sun more often than not. In response, any time I have a meeting up in Burbank these days and know I'll be done in good light, I bring a camera with me.

Such was the story back on January 13, when I got to the Buena Vista crossing just as the shadows were creeping in. Figured I had about an hour left to pull off some shots with "Beautiful Downtown Burbank" in the background.

First train was SCAX 911, an Airport Turn with an F125 Spirt leading.

Second train was SCAX 116 from Moorpark with another F125.

Third train was A777 with a P42DC.

Next we had a Boise Bullet on the Chatsworth Turn, SCAX 155.

After that, deadheading Airport Turn 908 with a rebuilt F59PHR passed inbound Airport Turn 906.

Finally, last train for me was Moorpark bound SCAX 115.

Ah yes, the work meeting with the camera conveniently brought along!  Any time I had a meeting up in Sun Valley, I'd shoot the afternoon rush hour from an overpass near Burbank Station. What was "standard power" 7 or 8 years ago on Amtrak and Metrolink is now gone (or going). The bonus to shooting was that I could wait out the rush HOURS traffic before heading back to OC. Nice shots.
