Outstandingly Colorful Monday around La Crosse WI

A beautiful clear sky greeted me as headed track side this morning with plenty of red lines on ATCS, and after almost a month of gray skies, I was ready! CP 686, KCS 4887 started the show rolling past the Amtrak depot here in La Crosse WI. NS 1026 leads a U NSDTND westward out of the BNSF yard, minutes later I'm along the CP Rail on French Island for CP 380 and the NS 9917 - FXE 4603.

The train along side the NS 1026 was the H NTWGAL, BNSF 8784 which I photographed on the south side of La Crosse. After the NTWGAL, CP 695 CP 8072 with a sand train bound for New Town ND cleared its warrant in La Crescent MN. Here in Dresbach MN the train is making a dash towards Donehower Siding to meet Amtrak. CP train 288 running hard and fast behind Amtrak with the KCS 4865 - 5018 and a CSXT motor, shown here at Homer MN.

CP 288 was my ticket back to La Crosse stopping one more time next to the Donehower Siding for this colorful consist. By now the BNSF started to push a few east bound trains starting with the Z PTLCHC, BNSF 5740.

Here is another glimpse of the BNSF 5740 and the Z PTLCHC. BNSF train G BOTCSX was a treat with the FXE 4036 leading and in wonderful light too!

The clouds suddenly appeared as the BNSF 3167 and the South Local headed for Savanna with a 85 car train, not too shabby for a Local! Well you win a few and you lose a few, unfortunately the H NSINTW, BNSG 9614 lost out to the clouds, but all in all it was an outstanding Monday!

You had quite a NICE day Jim with a great variety of trains in many different colors. Wish I had your sun angles and variety of trains, lol.
