Some Of Sunday and Monday's Traffic On The BNSF

It was a warmer partly cloudy day in Ritzville, WA on the BNSF Lakeside sub with a high-low of 60-31. Traffic has been 19 trains since midnight with more on the horizon. Here are some of the trains from today and several from yesterday.

4/5/2020

1. EB 339pm manifest train with BNSF 5963-4066-7371-"B" unit 329-green BN 1979-283 on the point with no DPU and a friendly wave from the conductor
2. Another shot of BNSF "B" 329, green BN 1979 and BNSF 283 on same train.
3. WB 356pm oil train with BNSF 5035-9968 on the pull with DPU's and a friendly toot-toot from the hogger.

Thanks Larry. It sure seems they're running at lot of power on those manifests. I'm thinking some not onlne.

BB,

Yes, I am willing to wager money that extra locomotives are not used for power, but can be used for dynamic braking ability..   Plus almost all of the trains have a notch restriction (ie. - Not over notch 5 faster than 40/50 mph)

Larry,

You sure have been getting your fair share of EMD's going thru the backyard..   I love the green SD40-2 1979 and the GP60B probably on the M-PASSPO train since you said it didn't have any DPU..

Thanks Bill and SP8100. There certainly has been an uptick in EMD power on trains, which is fine by me. I know EB trains thru the backyard are on a run 5 restriction, which means slow moving. WB's are mainly flying by.
