Western Railroad Discussion > UP and Great Western w/Lance (santa fe 199) last summer Part 1

Our adventure shooting photos continued the next day after Sherman Hill in Greeley, Fort Collins and Lasalle, Colorado. We started in Greeley for a UP meet and then headed thru Windsor, Loveland and into Fort Collins where we caught a Great Western in North Yard. Then back to Ault, Eaton, Greeley and finally Lasalle where we caught what we thought was a southbound but is stopped and then reversed into the Lasalle Yard.

Photo 1 is UP 7230 SB Manifest stopped at rebuilt Wye to connect to Great Western and also used for turning UP Steam Engines.
Photo 2 is UP 7724 NB Local Entering Siding to meet SB UP 7230 Manifest.
Photo 3 shows both sets of power at meet.

After all this C-19 stuff clear up (IF it all clears up) I think it would be fun to catch the local that uses the WYE in Greely, and chase it all day...

That was a fun day. And it really opened my eyes up to how many trains run between Denver & Cheyenne. Way more than I expected!
