Seen it happen before. Guys sitting around discussing what they think is the next shoe to drop. During their twenty minutes at coffee the workers can figure out how the company can shut down XYZ and where and how XYZ's work can be performed. By the end of the shift the BS session over coffee has become the company plan. Someone shares the plan with the TM and he she becomes a hero with the suits by making the plan his her own. Up goes the plywood on the windows and doors. Like the wartime poster says "How 'bout a warm cup of Shut the F*** Up? Loose lips sink ships. Date: 05/19/20 16:07 Re: Rumor Mill Author: dcfbalcoS1 Sh*t house rumors are very very effective at becoming company policy today because the mis managers have no thought patterns of their own ( at least very few that are worthy ).
From the movie, to get attention : " Shakin' it here, boss, shakin' it here. " Date: 05/19/20 16:43 Re: Rumor Mill Author: callum_out Global 3 was announced dead months ago.

It's still used for block swapping, but no loading/unloading. It's also home to a local that works the area. Date: 05/19/20 21:14 Re: Rumor Mill Author: BurtNorton I'll add one "rumor": UP's former LA&SL between Salt Lake, Las Vegas, and Yermo is up for sale or lease. The caveat is UP retains trackage rights for through intermodal, manifest, and unit trains. This would make a great regional vis-a-vis Wisconsin Central.

I wonder what role, if any, selling that line plays in restarting passenger service to Vegas? Date: 05/19/20 22:12 Re: Rumor Mill Author: goduckies Sell it to Branson

He put up his island as collateral to try and save Virgin Atlantic. He was quoted as saying he has lots of assets but that doesn't mean he has any cash. Just another house of cards teetering on the edge. Date: 05/20/20 07:48 Re: Rumor Mill Author: ts1457 masterphots Wrote:

Will his name (i.e. Virgin brand) still be worth anything after going through the wringer? Date: 05/20/20 08:07 Re: Rumor Mill Author: Rmosele dcfbalcoS1 Wrote:

However, over the years on Trainorders, "what we have here is a failure to communicate" has been quite popular. Date: 05/20/20 09:48 Re: Rumor Mill Author: 57A26 Drknow Wrote:

(At least for now.) The ramp was closed at G3, but I think there was still some block swapping done there. Maybe that's coming to an end, too. As far as Proviso, they did change MCBPR to MCBCH awhile back. Made me wonder if they were going to use BRC's Clearing for more terminal work. I don't know of much, if any on that line, but is there enough to sustain a rail business?? Nick Tharalson, Marion, IA Date: 05/20/20 10:54 Re: Rumor Mill Author: callum_out Really Nick, you ever been out there? Plus, it wouldn't surprise me to see the UP adopt the new owner as a bridge carrier
ie MRL and let them handle the UP traffic. There's five hundred cars a day worth of local trafffic without breathing hard. Out Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 05/20/20 11:54 by callum_out. Date: 05/20/20 11:04 Re: Rumor Mill Author: Drknow Hey I just heard the rumors yesterday. Global 3 hasn’t had a lift in over a year, was a dumb gamble to bet customers would want to pay drayage 75 miles to Chicago proper, but it is working for block swapping so we will probably close it down since that seems to be working. The Proviso rumors seem a little far fetched but 2 years ago who would have thought the hump would be gone and UP would start ripping up the bowl? UP probably thinks they can get BRC or IHB to do the switching for free🤣 Anything is on the table with this outfit. PS if ya ain’t heard desk19 and 12 are going to merge on 3rd trick “temporarily” 19 will spatch OMC to Clinton 3rd trick. Looks like Scott and Kim will have their hands full. Here we go!
