One on the road . . .
Author: 3rdswitch

.   .   .    as had happened numerous times in the past, while crossing the mighty Mississippi River into Vicksburg, MS, eastbound, an eastbound KCS train just happens to be crossing at the same time. Since the speed for trains is ten mph for nearly two miles on the approach to the old IC bridge as well as the west approach, there is lots of time to pick a spot to catch it. In this case, the train is a UP KCS NS run through intermodal Dallas to Atlanta coming out of the second of two tunnels trains pass through after crossing the big bridge across the river. Not sure of the story behind the huge size to this tunnel as it looks like an HO train passing through an O gauge tunnel?

Great photo. For sure it is a huge tunnel bore. It can easily have triple stack in the center.

Wow, I didn't realize there were any tunnels in Mississippi.  Is this one of the pair of tunnels near the highway interchange just east of the river?
