Western Railroad Discussion > Great day at Pomona/ Quenemo area yesterday.Date: 05/21/20 14:48 Great day at Pomona/ Quenemo area yesterday. Author: lilwes I spent a very enjoyable day in the Pomona/Quenemo area on the BNSF Transcon. The first train I saw (which is not posted here) was a 2 mile long doublestack. All 4 of the photo's posted were taken from an angle not commonly availed to us except on cloudy days. Also as you can see here are some more looks at the new bridge at Pomona.
Thanks for looking, Wes Wes Chiles Topeka, KS Date: 05/21/20 14:49 Re: Great day at Pomona/ Quenemo area yesterday. Then we could catch some Chicken Fried Steak on the way back to Topeka.

Author: Trainman41 There is a town in KS named Pomona? I thought only California had a town with that name. The article was in the Western Railroads section...a little confusing...

I guess the Roman goddess of orchard fruit inspired at least 3 states to name towns after her.
