Amtrak 4 East Wagon Mound
Author: highgreengraphics

Amtrak No. 4 Southwest Chief eastbound is departing East Wagon Mound, NM between controlling semaphores on May 16, 2020, in a near broadside view with namesake Wagon Mound dominating the background. As of yet, the semaphores at this location and the intermediate location east of here are intact, but the next siding east, Levi, is getting replacement signals. I was set up on the road with the stepladder as high as I could get to see over the low pole crossarms. Happy mound semaphorefanning! === === = === JLH

Nice work with the step ladder to yield a great photo.

You have an 'E" in the file name. Is that for East Wagon Mound or Eastbound?
The train number for the Eastbound Southwest Chief is No. 4.
Beautiful shot. We had a photographer out here in LA, L.T. Gotchey, who also used a ladder to gain height for his photos.

I sawed the tree with a bucksaw that made the Y-shaped stump, pulled the branches out of view, tried to cut at ground level but used up all my advance time and in short order the train came... I tried everything else at that spot, and had been eyeing this angle for a couple of years, of course one scraggly junk tree had to be in the way... === === = === JLH
