Emmert International, the car owner, is headquartered in a small community just SE of Portland....some interesting specs of their car:  https://emmertintl.com.   Arlen

Kasgro Rail Corporation which is also involved in the move (the car has the company's KRL reporting marks) provides a wide range of flat-deck and depressed-deck cars for moving heavy and oversized loads.  You can download a PDF spec sheet for each railroad car they own (along with all the car numbers) at there website:

my bad...emmert doesn't own this car....they own a smaller car....this one is owned by Westinghouse I believe.

Kind of a weird setup. Apparently Emmert charters the car, owned by Westinghouse and operated by Kasgro, builders of the car. At least that's my reading of it.

I have a friend who is a dispatcher for BNSF,  and in reference to the Schnabel car,  he said:  "If I never see that POS again, it will be too soon"  I guess it really throws
a wrench into the dispatching operations  LOL

You are both wrong in the current ownership.

CEBX 800 was built by Krupp of Germany for Combustion Engineering
It was then purchased by Westinghouse and renumber to WECX 800
Westinghouse sold the car to Kasgo Rail in 2018 at which time it was renumbered to KRL 3600

WECX 801 was built by Kasgo Rail in 2012 for Westinghouse.
In 2014 WECX 801 suffered a major problem and ended up being returned to Kasgo Rail in pieces.
Sometime between 2016 and 2018 ownership of WECX 801 changed from Westinghouse to Kasgo Rail
WECX 801 was rebuilt as KRL 3601 and emerged from the shops ready for use in 2019.

Emmert is just the equipment moving contractor. They subcontracted Kasgro to provide the car and to operate it during the movement.
Westinghouse has zero involvement other then maybe consulting about the vessel.

at least the schnabel can NOT litter the railroad behind it with slow orders from defects and does NOT need to be issued track and time for authority..........

none that i am aware of.  Schnabel cars can also run on signal indications and do NOT need track and time as far as i know.

d-cars find defects and need track and time.  they were not fun.

i'd take a schnabel car movement over the d-car any day.  but hey, that's just my opinion.........
