Western Railroad Discussion > Low Light re-crew at MiltonvaleDate: 06/23/20 17:41 Low Light re-crew at Miltonvale Author: santafe199 Daylight is scarce in these here parts! By the time the new crew has gotten the train back underway the sun will likely lone gone. It looks like they’re going to enjoy a sunset, for a while anyways…
1. BNSF 7983 is stopped with a grain empty at Miltonvale, KS. The train is apparently getting a fresh crew. Photo date: October 8, 2016. Thanks for looking! Lance Garrels santafe199 Date: 06/23/20 17:54 Re: Low Light re-crew at Miltonvale Author: Ritzville That's a NICE looking shot!
Larry Date: 06/24/20 02:19 Re: Low Light re-crew at Miltonvale Author: MrMRL Great shot. Photography 101... Leading lines folks, leading lines. The warm, almost overpowering (golden hour) glow of the Farmway grain silo grabs the viewers initial attention, then drawing the eye down to the shine of freshly polished rail, and finally drifting to the right where we find the dimmed headlight and illuminated number boards of BNSF 7983W and the awaiting Retzenberger crew van. The contrasting evening sky simply adds welcome dynamic effect (spice) to the overall scene. Textbook.

Very inciteful!! And I'd wager a hefty sum you've had some scholastic instruction in composition & design. It shows in your own photography! Thanks for the kind words!
