Last Thursday Diversion
Author: twjurgens

While waiting for the Zephyr in Chariton, IA ( https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?4,5050628) last Thursday evening, BNSF provided some diversion to make the wait more enjoyable!  In these two views, BNSF 5675 and 9001 had an eastbound coal load with 5812 as dpu.

Another coal load powered by 8484 and 9350 with 5880 as dpu.

Thanks BNSF!

I made an overnight stay in Chariton coming back from Summerail '17 in Marion, OH. I remember thinking that curve (in your last image) has all sorts of angles & possibilities. Add the scenery on both sides of town and it's well worth a prolonged visit...

I originally read that as the DPU came past 15 minutes after the head end and thought that was an awfully long train, even by PSR standards.

I need to do a better job of editing!!  Amtrak came along about 15 minutes after the dpu shot.  Sorry for the confusion.

No worries, I figured it out.  It was just an amusing thought.
