Good morning from the loading ramp at Abilene & Smoky Valley’s world-wide HQ terminal of Abilene, KS. Today we’ll be running the entire system map for a total of 10 miles between Abilene & the eastern terminus of Enterprise. That’s 5 all the way over & 5 all the way back.

But first things first: Breakfast! A good railroader never skips breakfast. “Yes ma’am, I’m ready. I’ll have the sausage omelet with American cheese, hash browns w/ green peppers & onions, wheat toast and a large glass of OJ. Coffee? Sure, with some no-sugar creamer and low-cal sweetener…”

1. A&SV ex-UP caboose 25466 reflects a rising Mr Sol in Abilene, KS @ 7:32 AM on October 1, 2016. Ex-Santa Fe 4-6-2 #3415 is under steam back at the shop, and will make its appearance in about 90”.
