Fresh paint on Beaumont Hill
Author: BeaumontHill

This morning UP ran an eastbound empty Mira Loma to El Paso auto train up Beaumont Hill with a fresh AC44ACM rebuild out of GE Ft. Worth leading.  These units are a nice break, when you can find them as most UP power these days is awful. Traffic on the Sunset Route is light these days due to PSR and monster trains, so when you can find something good to chase, that's what I do!

First photo is a rolling roster at Redlands just before 8am, as the train neared the first crossing of San Timoteo Canyon Road. Second was further up the canyon, west of the Hinda crossovers. Third, the standard morning summer shot at Beaumont curve where I broke off the chase.

Thanks for looking!

Really looks good. I guess at about 20 years old, it's OK to freshen these up. Thanks for posting.

Nice! Good looking AC44CM.  I thought UP was dumping the flag on their new and rebuilt units

Its quite a contrast to that faded and filthy ES44 behind it
