Western Railroad Discussion > Another Derailment on the UP Mojave SubDate: 07/18/20 23:03 Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: 6088 At 9:07pm tonight a train derailed between Walong and Woodford, right next to the freeway. If you go to the Loop Cam and scroll back to 9:07 the camera is off looking for NeoWise, but you can hear the cars derail. Then at 10:26 you can see a view of the cars. I bet the Loop Cam will be the hot hangout tomorrow morning!

6:10 - GATX 228722 is back up and rolling on the rails, being pulled uphill by a sideboom. ~ Mr. MRL Edited 3 time(s). Last edit at 07/19/20 06:56 by MrMRL. Date: 07/19/20 06:18 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: Milwaukee More empty cars getting string lined?
Date: 07/19/20 06:59 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: 6088 Last 3 or 4 cars in the train, so doubt it was a stringline.
Date: 07/19/20 06:59 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: funnelfan It was a MRVWC train going uphill. People think there was no DPU on the train, and the derailement was about 5 cars off the track with only two cars from the derailed cars to the last car in the train. Would like to get that confirmed somehow. So no stringline this time. There were some people looking at the south switch at Woodford early in the morning, so a wheel may have dropped off there. Looks like most of the cars derailed at a flange greaser just north of the loop.
Ted Curphey Ontario, OR Date: 07/19/20 07:04 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: 6088 Confirmed, the 2 boxcars are the 86th and 87th car from the head end, the last tank is the 88th car from the head end and the rear of the train.

Date: 07/19/20 10:34 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: 6088 Derailement cleaned up, and the trains are rolling. 1 tank car MIGHT have been on the ground, put back on quickly if it was, 1 IBT boxcar will probably sucumb to the blue wrench soon.

Grainers are the one exception. Out Date: 07/20/20 16:25 Re: Another Derailment on the UP Mojave Sub Author: The-late-EMD Not gonna start a debate of who's got the better trained hogheads.
