Western Railroad Discussion > Derailment on BNSF Ottumwa SubDate: 07/20/20 09:41 Derailment on BNSF Ottumwa Sub Author: Agent A BNSF train derailed this morning at the Monroe Wapello Road crossing south of Eddyville, Iowa. Railroad-wise, that's west of Chillicothe and east of Albia. Looks like a semi tractor t-boned an empty coal train. About twenty cars were derailed from what I've read. There's one photograph with this article: https://www.ottumwaradio.com/trail-derailment-shuts-down-t61/. Sounded like the train's crew was okay over the radio.
