From 2017 the eastbound LKT72 running late has just left the bridge over the Salt River The Tempe city landscape is changing from rural to very high density urban from the SP days of earlier posted images. They are even building a streetcar to supplement the light rail system.Bill Webb

Any updates on the condition of the other spans at this time.It appeared that there was a lot of burning equipment (centrebeams??) on several of the other bridge spans.

Nice catch, is this the end where the derailment occured? Also, what direction is this train going? Looked TO ME, like just a couple of center beams, the tank cars, and lots of ties burning. This will take awhile to repair. Maybe you will catch a detour or two through Wickenburg?

The pictured train is RR eastbound, geographically southbound. This is the end of the bridge that burned.

Great photo, you even caught a Valley Metro train on the far right.  The Tempe transit center and the main stop for Arizona State University are not far to the right out of the picture.
