Last night's full moon motivated me to get up @ 0500 this morning and see if I might catch a train and the moon. I went to West Lyons on the BNSF Dickinson Sub (MP 8.9). I was trying different exposures while shooting the moon with the teleboomer. I noticed the signals lit and soon the BNSF 6016 east appears leading the C-SCMSUD (Suger Creek, MT-Superior,WI docks). The D/S was stopping the 6016 on the main track @ East Lyons to wait for the Mandan switcher to finish its work @ MP 3.5.. So I had the opportunity to try different exposures with the train slowing.

After the train passed, the pre-dawn sky silhouetted the DPU's very nicely. Back in Bismarck, I went up on top of the bluff overlooking the BNSF bridge. I knew there were no east bounds coming but the moon over the bridge made a nice scene. Thanks for coming along.
