The "Coast Starlight" along Klamath Lake
Author: photobob

I took this a few years ago of the Seattle bound "Coast Starlight" along Klamath Lake. On this clear morning Mt Shasta could be seen rising in the background.

As I recall that is the area where millions of tiny green bugs fly around every August.
Going north, by the time one reached Modoc Point the car is pretty buggy!

Great shot!

Try running in to love bugs in southeast Texas.  Car will get black quick.

Now this is quite nice. I remember this place as, "almost to Train Mountain" - IIRC there is a small quarry/rock pile that you can switch back up at this location?

Very nice. That indeed is a spot where they count the green bugs in the billions some years.

Those buys that emerge from the water are called "midges", and be glad  you're in a car.  Just imagine being on a motorcycle............

That's a nice spot. Been awhile since the train was that long.

When you are going through the midges, DO Not turn on your windshield wipers. They will smear the windshield with a green slime.

I made that mistake once. Ran out of windshield washer fluid trying to clean them off. Had to stop in Klamath Falls at one of those self service car washes to clean just the front of the car off.

Including a lot of background scenery made this quite a picture, photobob.  Don't think you're a drone guy.  You must have found access to a hillside with track and highway just below.

That's when you go through an entire gallon of "bug remover" windshield washer fluid in an afternoon!
