Western Railroad Discussion > Sunday Morning UP in LA in Bobcat Fire HazeDate: 09/10/20 13:41 Sunday Morning UP in LA in Bobcat Fire Haze Author: erielackawanna Shot some Sunday morning UP action LA and Alhambra with the haze from the Bobcat Fire hanging over everything. While I was out and about a perfectly normal looking guy pulled up alongside of me (I think seeing me shooting pictures of trains). He pointed in the direction of nothing and said, “Do you see those massive bridges over there the two huge bridges?” I looked again. There was nothing. “No Human could build those,” he told me. “They were built by the Trolobynes of Moord, aliens, on one of their visits.” I thanked him and wished him a nice day. He drove off.
Anyway, back to the railfanning, shot what turned out to be the first of two ZLCAIs going through the trench in Alhambra, shot the power for the Aurant Switch at Aurant Yard, and then shot a ZMQLC breaking its train up at LATC alongside the YLZ14 7AM Switch. Image one is the ZLCAI coming through the trench. The 2ZLCAI later that day would have some special scheme KCSdM unit in the consist, but I missed it. Image two is the Aurant Switch power at Aurant Yard. https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?11,5101514,5101514#msg-5101514 As for UP snoots, there were 246 UP SD40-2 built with them (UP 3243-3488). 153 of them still remain on the UP roster, including UP 1838 (built as UP 3339). Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 09/10/20 17:37 by ble692. |
