KCS precision railroading
Author: KB5WK

I think its happening.  Here is a 11,000 feet and 618 axle M-SHDA on Saturday morning 09/12/2020 at Lake Lavon TX.
KCS 4852 4074 2034 2830 2847 on the head end, and 4622 rear DP.
They never ran them this long before and never have DP engines.

Why so many "bare-table" stack cars?
Why so many single level container stack cars?

Running south?

overhead clearance restrictions?

cheers!  Jim Blaze

Don't forget that the hedge fund vultures are circling overhead -- maybe KCS management is trying to show that they can make the "efficiencies" themselves.

Single stacks at this time of year could be grain being exported in containers.  Too heavy per well to doublestack.

Sharp images and and video. Thanks for posting trains from Texas.

For a while KCS I caught “PSR” trains on the Laredo sub. Mostly doubling up empty unit trains. Longer than the newly built sidings.

Thanks for sharing. Nice video.5 locomotive up front and one on the rear.  173 cars/platforms for those  that like car counts vs axle counts.
