Maybe Wall St. is shocked that KCS doesn't want to kill the Golden Goose? I guess Aesop's fables have no metrics to measure, and no "valuations" to exploit.

I'm happy to see Wall Street  told  to go  the devil .  Could have said something else but, I guess that is enough glee.  Love to see KCS go its own way.

There's too much fee money in this potential deal for it to just go away.

My guess is that the bankers who put together the original proposal will now talk with NS, UP, etc to see what they might pay for parts of the Kansas City Southern. And, probably discuss with major share owners like Vanguard and MFS what they think is a fair price for their shares.  Maybe go south of the border and hear how a purchase should benefit the people (and leaders) of Mexico. What needs to be in a final package for TMM to buy in, or stay in.
