Western Railroad Discussion > The Usual Variety On The Indiana Harbor BeltDate: 09/15/20 12:24 The Usual Variety On The Indiana Harbor Belt Author: Ohiorailfan A few trains on Sunday on the IHB. Yard job at Blue Island with an SW1500 and "new" to the IHB, GP40-2W #4020. The hump set was then seen at the west end with 2 slugs bracketing 2 SW1500s. We then shot a transfer at Alsip, the bottle train at Hammond with 3 units and finally a westbound transfer with a genset leading. Enjoy!

That GP40-2W looks cool in IHB paint.

Rich Date: 09/15/20 19:43 Re: The Usual Variety On The Indiana Harbor Belt Author: irhoghead I grew up along the Harbor, but moved away 34 years ago. Back then, the SW1500s were the "big power." It's strange to see a GP40-2W or anything other than an end cab switcher in a Harbor paint job.
