However, like the C&TS trains from Antonito to Osier, trains were much longer due to "social distancing". I would imagine that in "normal" times, the trains would be shorter! IMHO

Glad to see they got the F7A working again.  When I was there for the Santa Fe Convention in 2019 it was out of service and a standard cab Geep was on the east end.  From What I could tell on the video, the train was its normal length.

Great drone footage! What kind do you use? I have a DJI Mavic 2 Pro that I'm satisfactorily (but not excessively) happy with. Piloting that thing in the gorge would require some pretty serious skill.
... Looks like that 3rd car needs a paint job sooner rather than later!
Speaking of which...

      ***RANDOM THOUGHT ALERT***

Does anybody know how much it costs to pant a 2-tone, striped, standard 85-foot North American passenger car such as the dining car seen in this video (3rd carriage behind the 2 locomotives). Does the use of silver paint affect the cost? How long does such an endeavor take from start to finish? Just curious.

Now that is just Gorgeous! : - )

Is this on previous or abandoned Ex-DRGW trackage?

HO???  Nice video.  I know it's all about the scenery but that looks painfully slow.  And how do they turn for the return?

The Royal Gorge Train on ex-D&RGW line
Author: cozephyr

The Royal Gorge Train operates over former Denver & Rio Grande Western RR trackage that was operated under SP and UP.  UP sold a portion of the line in the Royal Gorge area to Rock & Rail (now owned by Martin Marietta) and the Canon City & Royal Gorge RR operations.

Trains operate with locoomotives on both ends.  Train crew just swaps ends.
