BNSF SD9 1727 at Brookfield, MO?
Author: Evan_Werkema

Back in 2017, BNSF donated SD9 1727 (ex-BN 6154, originally CB&Q 352) to the town of Brookfield, MO.  The most recent photos I can find of the unit show it still on BNSF rails parked near the grain elevator:

Current aerials on Google Maps don't show it there anymore.

Anyone know what became of it?

This engine is now located by the library with a caboose attached.  Here are a couple of photos from last year of the move which looks like it is now off of BNSF propetry.  I looked at Google Earth, but it dates from 2015 and the engine was moved by side boom cranes,  These photos come from a FB post. Thanks for the photos.  Are they planning to repaint it CB&Q?

Interesting that BNSF MOW welders were there as seen in the picture. Looks like they were probably welding wheel chocks to the rail.

Here's a photo of it from February of this year, with its ex-Frisco caboose.

upon close inspection it appears to still have all its parts. Traction motors are intact as well as radiators.

Thanks folks!  Wasn't aware that Google Maps' most recent aerial imagery was that old, and I'm glad to hear the unit is now on display.
