Western Railroad Discussion > I'm Feeling GassyDate: 10/10/20 01:08 I'm Feeling Gassy Author: funnelfan A increase in winds last Thusday drove a lot of smoke from Idaho wildfires into the valleys of western Montana. I had already been planning to head home that day, so decided to follow the MRL Gas Local westward. I arrived in Missoula just as the outbound crew was climbing on the power. So I grabbed some food and gas and went up on Evaro Hill for some photos. I had to get creative as the smoke was making some more traditional photos unattractive. I had to focus on the train and foreground objects, and eschew the distant mountains that were cloaked in a blanket of pollution. After the sun dropped below the horizon, I took advantage of the haze to emblish a final photo for the day.
