Western Railroad Discussion > Amtrak Slices a Car in Half in Albany, Oregon

This afternoon the northbound Coast Starlight hit a vehicle at the Ellingson Road crossing in Albany, Oregon. The vehicle ended up about 100 feet north of the grade crossing in chunks. The male driver was reported deceased by the local paper.

Ok, pic was pretty small on my phone, but blowing it up a bit reveals flashers and a long gate. I don't get how this happens..... smh
