Western Railroad Discussion > Colorado Pacific Siding Construction 21 Oct 2020Date: 10/23/20 05:26 Colorado Pacific Siding Construction 21 Oct 2020 Author: cozephyr Colorado Pacific's Towner Line Construction
21 October 2020-Just east of Nepesta Road (east of NA Junction, CO) at old Missouri Pacific milepost 868.57 Colorado Pacific is busy placing sub grade for a new siding and setout track. This will allow Colorado Pacific the ability to interchange with BNSF and Union Pacific. The new siding will be long enough to build 100 to 110-car grain trains and the setout track a place for power to duck out of the way. This will be the last piece of the plan to put the old Missouri Pacific line back in operation. The line has been in the hands of the State of Colorado which bought it to save it. The state found operators for a number of years and finally sold it to V&S. V&S bought it to tear it up and did start removing track material (spikes), when Colorado Pacific petitioned the STB to force V&S to sell it to them. The STB ruled in Colorado Pacific's favor and they have spent the last two years getting it ready for operation. Kansas & Oklahoma (K&O) is the designated operator. NO sound video. Edited 3 time(s).
