Western Railroad Discussion > Moody Morning Meet and a couple to close the weekendDate: 11/13/20 16:51 Moody Morning Meet and a couple to close the weekend Author: Roadrailer Picking up from where I left off a few weeks ago (https://www.trainorders.com/discussion/read.php?1,5133322), while camping down in the Columbia Gorge (WA) we woke up on Sunday to light breezes and mostly clear skies (1) as a WB pulls towards the west signal at Bates. (2) Timing seemed early for the #27 to run-around, so I walked up to check the signal.
(3) Moments later an Eastbound manifest diverges to the siding. I was surprised to see they failed to turn their lights on again.

7) conversations indicated Amtrak passed the EB Z at Toole, so half the party went to Sundale, while I went to the east end of Bates. In a bit of luck, the sun appeared for a brief moment. 8) After a long period of quiet, another WB grainer finally passes as we closed up camp as the weather started to turn south. with no more trains and no more sun it was time to head home 9) 5 minutes from the house I was able to stop for one more train as an empty grainer arrives into Kennewick on the Yakima/Stampede sub. Thanks for bearing with me in dragging out this weekend of pictures. Richard in Richland. Larry Date: 11/14/20 03:38 Re: Moody Morning Meet and a couple to close the weekend Author: ironmtn Excellent set, and well deserved IOTD -- congratulations. Fine use of the wonderful locations in the Columbia River Gorge for overall composition, and great use of the light to make the scenes work so evocatively. Thanks for posting this set for us to enjoy.

Toole is on the MRL near St Regis, Towal is near Maryhill in WA. Good catch. Richard Date: 11/16/20 14:26 Re: Moody Morning Meet and a couple to close the weekend Author: bobk Great series!
