UP Haloweeen Ballast Train

UP SD70ACe 8395 leads a SB UP-Herzog self unloading ballast train at CP FL032 in Caldwell, TX on UP's Giddings Sub. The Giddings Sub is directional SB for UP trains , but BNSF trackage rights trains run NB-SB 2-8 trains a day.

It is 2:42 pm October 31, 2020.

Nice shot, but could be a bad sign!? The last several UP ballast trains I've seen were on the way to some derailment site...

No derailment,just trying to catch up with deferred maintenance from Precision Scheduled Railroading.. I've heard that lately they had a five hour definite work window every day on the Giddings Sub.
