Discovering a New Location
Author: BNSF-6432

Last week I discovered a new location for morning eastbounds outside of Penwell, TX. On Sunday I ventured out hoping to catch something and was rewarded with a slow moving intermodal headed the right direction. Nothing else showed during my time there but the three unit stack train provided a nice test run for shooting at the isolated location, and made it worth getting out in the morning.

1) The train emerge from a small hill outside the small ghost town of Penwell.

2) The power eases into an elevated curve looking across the flat Permian Basin ground.

3) The power turns south briefly towards my vantage point to cross under I-20

4) Crossing over an abandoned road that leads into Penwell.

5) Finally a wide view of 7292 leading two other motors.

That's a cool spot (minus the trash). I'm guessing the Interstate is right behind ya?

Correct. Here's the less than stellar view looking due south (railroad east) towards the I-20 overpass.

Looks like you found "The middle of nowhere" or are close to "BFE".
