The first snow of the season fell yesterday in the La Crosse WI area, not much here in the La Crosse area but just 20 miles north my son who lives in Trempealeau received 4" of the white goodness. CP 2205 leads CP G72 with a move bound for La Crescent MN which CP 288, CP 8803 shows the results of the heavier snows along the Mississippi River from St. Paul, last CP 2207 with CP H20 also had a snowy beard as it rumbled past the Amtrak Depot.

The fourth train in the flurry of activity was CP 813, UP 5673 with another trainload of Wyoming's finest bound for the Columbia plant near Portage. Last train before heading home was CP 471, CP 7036 shown working the yard before pulling past the depot while doubling their train together.

Yep, it's that time of the year alright. We had three inches yesterday out here.
